Its been quite a while since I have remixed my traditional water color illustrations with a digital graphics. I keep it to the minimum whenever I do, trying to keep the essence of the original artwork intact. I guess I have gone a bit overboard here…or so I think. Let me know how you like it….
“Hi, I am a baby tiger. My likes are on the verge of being extinct. There are just 1400 of my kind left. I believe that I have the right to live and enjoy my childhood and my life in this beutiful planet as much as anyone else. Please don’t kill me for my skin, my claws or just for fun. I am harmless and donot intrude into anyone’s space. PLEASE GIVE ME MY SPACE BACK. Let me live.” …..A Baby Tiger.
When I saw this week’s topic in Illustration Friday, this is the first thing that came to my mind. I strongly feel for animals and tiger conservation is the foremost thing in mind for any animal lover. I had been thinking for a while to make an illustration on this theme and do my small bit as a contribution to the great cause of Tiger Conservation. And the opportunity came in the form of this topic “SPACE”.
“Give the tiger its SPACE. Let it LIVE”- is the soul theme of this illustration.
Its summer, my favorite season. Yes, it does get a bit hot at times but I love the freshness in the colors of the nature, the flowers, the fruits, even the tiny little garden insects. So there I picked up my sketchbook and paintbrush and started illustrating fashion inspired by all the richness of summer.
Let me know how you liked it, and which season inspires you in any kind of creative pursuit.
From this week onwards I am going to take part in the weekly illustration submission in Illustration Friday. This week’s theme is ‘Secret’ and I created this watercolor illustration depicting the same.
A woman with mysterious eyes and a finger on her lips is a true personification of secrecy irrespective of what she wants to hide. It is an universal gesture that everyone recognises.
I had been pondering for a while as to how exactly the header of my blog should look like.
This is what I finally came up with. This is my typical work place where I let all my creative thoughts flow out on a paper or a canvas. A cup of hot coffee acts as ‘food for thought’ and I invariably find a cute little intruder in my cat who loves to sleep next to me all the time.
And yes, I am haunted by spiders and I get to see one more often than not, which is sometimes a major distraction from work!
Nevertheless, I love my work and my work space. 🙂
