Spring in stripes

Image

Image

My inspiration for these illustrations are the colors from the runway shows for Spring Summer 2013. The bright and beautiful greens, yellows and reds are so fashionable when put together in a look.

‘Spring in stripes’ is done with water color on paper and then color corrected and edited in Photoshop.I hope you like it. šŸ™‚

Polka Fetish

Image

POLKAs are my favorites!! I like polkas in everything. So it is quite likely that I should be having a series of illustrations on Polka dots alone šŸ™‚ Well I do have, I mean I am working on a lot of polkas of late. Will be updating all the artworks shortly. This is the first lady in a blue polka dress. I have a similar dress from ‘Forever New’, which was my inspiration behind this fashion art.

I did this illustration with watercolor on paper and edited in Photoshop.

Illustration Friday: Haunt

This piece of work was for Illustration Friday’s topic ‘Haunt’. I was quite excited about the idea and loved they way I executed it. Unfortunately I missed submitting it by few hours. šŸ˜¦

Decided to share it with all my readers anyways.

I hated homework as a kid. In fact, I rather dreaded it!!! And I guess so does every kid. That simple though led me to the idea of the ‘homework monsters’ !!!!

ENJOY the MONSTERS!!!!

Lovely Style

I draw inspirations for all my fashion illustrations from different magazines, blogs and photographs.

There are some fashion blogs that fuel my creative imagination in a fashionable way!! Lovely Style by Spanish fashion blogger Rakel Campos is a blog full of great looks that I regularly visit. Check Lovely Style in Facebook here.

These illustrations are inspired by Rakel’s Lovely Style and I hope you like them. Though I can illustrate almost all of the looks that are published in Lovely Style, I had to limit myself to only three for now. There will be more coming in the future so do keep visiting. šŸ™‚

Cat-O-Doodle-do

It would be an understatement to say that I adore cats. Cats mean so much more to me.

They are one of the best things that have happened to me.
I am a hard core animal lover in general, but just the sight of a catĀ  brightens up my mood and makes my day!

So I dedicate this post to all the cute little ‘meeaowing’ things and particularly to our pet Poos-poos aka Pussy,a stray kitten who found shelter at our home and a very special place in our hearts.

Poos-poos has now grown into a fine young lady and has given me a lot of inspiration for most of my children’s illustrations.

Illustration Friday: Lonely

Image

A lonely catĀ sits patientlyĀ on the window pane as she waitsĀ for her owner to return home from work.

This illustration is doneĀ in my usual style of acrylic/watercolor mix on paper.

Image

This is the ‘work-in-progress’. First the pencil lines andĀ then acrylic outlines. TheĀ third oneĀ has light shading and in the fourth one I have done color blocking with watercolor. After color blocking I started adding all the light and shade effects, detailings etc.

Image

Here comes my inspiration for this illustration. My sweetheart “Poos-Poos” actually feels lonely when we go out and waits eagerly for us to come back. She ‘meeowwwws’ her heart out when we reach home and looks visibly happy.
