Spring in stripes

My inspiration for these illustrations are the colors from the runway shows for Spring Summer 2013. The bright and beautiful greens, yellows and reds are so fashionable when put together in a look.

‘Spring in stripes’ is done with water color on paper and then color corrected and edited in Photoshop.I hope you like it. πŸ™‚

Illustration Friday: Haunt

This piece of work was for Illustration Friday’s topic ‘Haunt’. I was quite excited about the idea and loved they way I executed it. Unfortunately I missed submitting it by few hours. 😦

Decided to share it with all my readers anyways.

I hated homework as a kid. In fact, I rather dreaded it!!! And I guess so does every kid. That simple though led me to the idea of the ‘homework monsters’ !!!!

ENJOY the MONSTERS!!!!

Cool Keira

Image

No, this illustration is not inspired by Keira Knightley in any way, though I must admit I find Keira Knightly incredibly gorgeous. I liked the rhyming of the two words ‘Cool’ and ‘Keira’ quite interesting, and that is why the title. πŸ™‚

I am just back from a nice holiday and feeling a bit guilty for not sketching much lately. So I made this illustration in water color on paper and quickly posted it to spare me from my guilty consciousness!!! πŸ˜‰

She looks like a typical cool teenage girl and IΒ like the over all look of this illustration. Its just the way I expected.

IllustrationFriday: Lost

This week’s topic ‘Lost’ by Illustration Friday is interesting. It had me thinking for a while.
After I ruled out most of the images that came to my mind once I read the topic, like lost in the woods, or in a desert or amidst nowhere…I decided to work on “lost in thoughts”.
This is the outcome….a illustration, in watercolor on paper, of a young lady lost in thoughts about her lover. I drew a red rose in her hand to stess on the romantic aspect of the illustration.
I hope you like the post…. πŸ™‚

My work space

My work space

I had been pondering for a while as to how exactly the header of my blog should look like.
This is what I finally came up with. This is my typical work place where I let all my creative thoughts flow out on a paper or a canvas. A cup of hot coffee acts as ‘food for thought’ and I invariably find a cute little intruder in my cat who loves to sleep next to me all the time.
And yes, I am haunted by spiders and I get to see one more often than not, which is sometimes a major distraction from work!
Nevertheless, I love my work and my work space. πŸ™‚
